Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Full adherence to the internal principles and regulations of the Shuhada Organization, considering organizational values and behavior.
  • Perform duties during official working hours and be present in the shelter 24 hours a day if necessary.
  • Complete awareness and compliance with all policies of the Shuhada Organization.
  • Organizing and supervising the daily, monthly, and yearly work plans for administrative, educational, service, and residential activities of the orphanage.
  • Submitting timely requests and suggestions regarding the needs of the orphanage to the provincial and central offices of the Shuhada Organization.
  • Completing administrative and financial documents regularly and systematically according to the institute’s policy and following its procedures to the provincial and central office.
  • Immediate transfer of orphanage students to health centers in case of illness.
  • Active participation in coordination and advisory meetings of the regional office and relevant sector.
  • Continuous 24-hour monitoring and follow-up of the health, social, nutritional, and educational status of the orphanage children.
  • Completion of registration and record documents for all current and newly admitted orphanage children.
  • Preservation and safekeeping of documents, cash and in-kind assets, and records of the Shuhada Organization and the orphanage children.
  • Serious attention to the preservation and maintenance of the Shuhada Organization’s assets in the orphanage.
  • Organizing files of official administrative and financial documents of the orphanage.
  • Cooperation in enrolling the children of the orphanage in schools and training courses when necessary.
  • Searching for and providing appropriate solutions for educational, administrative, security, and health problems of the orphanage children and, if needed, consulting with colleagues and officials of the provincial and central office.
  • Supervision of the fair distribution of food, hygiene items, clothing, and educational materials.
  • Planning the correct and needs-based use of consumable materials (food, clothing, and fuel) available in the orphanage.
  • Providing the opportunity for necessary courses, including religious and Quranic studies, scientific subjects, English language, computer skills, and university entrance preparation, both inside and outside the orphanage.
  • Serious attention to the educational and developmental growth of children.
  • Identifying and nurturing the intellectual and mental talents of the children through the education and training section officials.
  • Regularly monitoring the educational and developmental status of the shelter participants in internal areas, schools, and related courses.
  • Providing supplementary programs including essay writing, drawing, calligraphy, poetry recitation, public speaking, artistic activities, and sports.

Employment requirements and qualifications:

  • Must be an Afghan national and comply with the laws, regulations, and applicable decrees of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, while demonstrating full commitment to the principles, values, and policies of Shuhada Organization.
  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in management, Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, or another relevant field.
  • Fluency in one of the national languages (Dari or Pashto) and good command of English, particularly in reporting, correspondence, and professional communication.
  • Have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in management, education, social development, childcare, residential facility management, or other related sectors.
  • Demonstrate strong managerial, planning, organizational, supervisory, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, children, families, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Possess a high level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and commitment to assigned responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of child protection principles, social welfare services, educational development, and residential care management will be considered an advantage.
  • Respect institutional regulations, professional ethics, and the administrative procedures of Shuhada Organization and Samar Orphanages.
  • Willingness to undertake additional job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the administration when required.
